If you are planning to go to Saputara during this monsoon, do not skip this small but peaceful spot commonly known as Kalibel Waterfall.

Kalibel Waterfall is an unexplored waterfall which is located in Dang district, approximately 100 kms from Surat via Vyara Bypass and just 2 km from Kalibel village. On the way to this waterfall, you might even find another waterfall, Koshmal Waterfall which is approximately 10-12 kms from Kalibel Waterfall.

Mahal Eco Campsite

Mahal ECO Campsite

Mahal Waterfall
Mahal Waterfall

If you want to get away from the daily hustle and bustle of Surat city and relax in the lap of nature, feel the gentle touch of nature, then Mahal Campsite is the best place.

This eco-campsite is managed by the North-Dang Forest Division at Mahal village on the border of Purna Wildlife Sanctuary in Dang district, 120 km from Surat.

Temka village can be reached from Surat via Mahal, Vyara bypass and Saraiya bypass. Proceeding from Temka, the road passes through the green forest. In some places a river flows parallel to the road, in some places milky springs and waterfalls fall from a high hill, on the other side there is a deep valley.

As soon as you reach Mahal village, you will find the board of Mahal Eco Campsite, then you will reach the campsite from there. There is a bridge over Purna River just 300 meters outside the camp entrance gate. Wherever you go and stand, you will see a beautiful view.

Inside the campsite there are various types of bamboo accommodation. Where we can stay. The booking of which has to be done online beforehand. Various activities like hanging ladder, commando net, zip line can be done inside the camp.

Karanjwa track is inside the campsite. For which you will get a guide inside and it is mandatory to guide so that you don't get lost in this dense forest. The guide will take us to that track and bring us back. Various teak, bamboo, bamboo trees can be seen going on that track. One will hear the chirping of various birds. Colorful butterflies will be seen.

The sound of running water was heard on that track and a beautiful waterfall was seen. There we descended the stairs and went under the waterfall and bathed in the water of the waterfall. There on the rock we sat for hours and enjoyed the touch of nature. After sitting for an hour we returned to the campsite.

Around 2-3 km from Mahal Campsite are Mahal Falls, Raspathar Falls, Purna River Bank.

Things to watch out for:

1. Avoid going to this place if it rains a lot.

2. Since it is a sanctuary, if you see any animal, do not disturb it.

Plastic Free India
Let's take resolution not to use plastic much - Plastic Devil Statue prepared

Plastic bags now already have the reputation of being fairly destructive for the environment. They are made from crude oil, and the implications of that are several. For starters, it’s not a renewable resource, making it hard to understand why we are so dependent on that product. Secondly, extracting it causes an incredible amount of pollution, no matter how it is done. According to the Natural Environment website, it takes up to 100 million barrels of oil to manufacture a year’s worth of plastic bags worldwide.

Then, there is the time it takes to degrade. Since most are not biodegradable, they don’t actually completely disappear. Instead, they leave a form of ‘plastic dust’, which is a very small particle of plastic. What we need to know is that not all plastic bags end up in landfills. Several are found in forests, lakes, rivers and oceans. As a matter of fact, there is a ‘plastic soup’ patch in the Pacific Ocean twice the size of continental USA, and it is not going to disappear due to the makeup of the bags.

Although most people know about the devastating effects of plastic, there are still quite a lot of people who refuse to throw their garbage in the right locations (bins) or reduce their consumption of bags and disposable products. This affects the wildlife in every location that the plastic is contaminating.

For example, approximately 100,000 sea turtles and other marine mammals die each year from ingesting pieces of plastic since they mistake it for food. Jellyfish are apparently prone to this as well as the albatross and other endangered species. Land wildlife do the same thing, and this could have dire consequences on humans in the long run, since most people on the planet still eat meat.

Some suggest recycling as an alternative, but this is not reliable since the resource is still being used, and we need to use more energy to convert the plastic into a new item. Reusing it as a doggie-doo bag is nice, or for the garbage bins, but this still means we are using plastic. The best solution is to purchase reusable bags, or better yet, make your own from scrap materials…

EMR can destroy the birds eggs and embryos. The huge reduction of house sparrow populations, that of the red-whiskered bulbul, brahminy kite, and the spotted dove is alarming.

There are several reasons this happens:

1. Lack of proper food or fruits.
2. Disappearance of grasslands.
3. Expansion of industrialisation.
4. Harmful EMR.
5. Modernisation.
6. Unlimited use of wireless cell phones.

Albert Einstein said: “I fear the day that technology will surpass our human interaction. The world will have a generation of idiots.”

At the very end , I must too say this: No birds, no lives, save birds, save ourselves.

Give water to birds, fed them, If they are alive then only we will alive, otherwise we also start dying like birds due to cutting trees and radiation .

Sunset Photography

Sunset, also known as sundown, is the daily disappearance of the Sun below the horizon due to Earth's rotation. As viewed from everywhere on Earth, the equinox Sun sets due west at the moment of both the Spring and Autumn equinox. As viewed from the Northern Hemisphere, the sun sets to the northwest (or not at all) in the Northern hemisphere's spring and summer, and to the southwest in the autumn and winter; these seasons are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere.

Some amazing sunset clicked by me :

Sunset at Dumas Beach, Surat with CocaCola Bottle

As a ray of white sunlight travels through the atmosphere to an observer, some of the colors are scattered out of the beam by air molecules and airborne particles, changing the final color of the beam the viewer sees. Because the shorter wavelength components, such as blue and green, scatter more strongly, these colors are preferentially removed from the beam.
